Baby Birdies

Cory and I are going to have babies!! ...Baby birdies that is...

A couple weeks ago I noticed a male and female bird hanging around my hanging plant. They were booth zooming back and forth so frequently that I decided I should check it out.

Sure enough, when I looked inside I found some eggs. After some internet research I determined they were house finches. The female is small and brown and the male is brown with a red chest and head. Stay tuned because in just a couple weeks the babies should hatch!

Pine Ryders are Champs!

Last Tuesday my softball team - the Pine Ryders - defended our title as league champs. Last year was our first year to win the league, so doing it two years in a row is still exciting. We're not a dominant force quite yet. If we win next year it's OK to start hating us.

For now, let us celebrate our victory the only way we know how...

...by feeding each other beer!

Oh yeah, and we got this awesome trophy!

What do you do with a trophy after age 16?

Babysitting Aspen

Last night Cory and I got to babysit Aspen (Jamie and Brian's 3.5 month-old daughter) while they celebrated their two year anniversary.

Cory made me dinner while I played with Aspen. I think that's a good sign of things to come.

I promise Aspen smiled a bunch, just not in this picture
We also learned that Cory needs a stuffed animal that makes nature noises to help him sleep. He and Aspen were both falling asleep to the sounds of a waterfall coming out of a stuffed giraffe.
