Cory loves fireworks. Every other year we go to his brother's cabin on Lake Coeur d'Alene in Idaho. Since it's on Indian land - and it's Idaho - it's legal to buy awesome fireworks and shoot them off your dock. Instead of going to a city fireworks show, everyone on the lake buys their own and has competitions.
Since I grew up in San Diego and I am a girl, I never got more than sparklers and those things that pop really loud when you throw them on the ground. Shooting off real fireworks is fun and kind of scary, especially when you're an adult and you understand that you could easily lose an eye or arm. Luckily I had "experts" giving me advice about what to buy and how to shoot them.

When I eventually lit the fuse about 10 massive fireworks shot out of the short, fat cylinder (pictured above - notice the cactus) in succession.
Fireworks are legal in Sac County. Another reason to visit. :)
ReplyDeleteTwo things: How much did that bag of fireworks cost you? I have no idea how to price these sorts of things.
ReplyDeleteSecond, our houseguest woke up on New Year's morning at 8 am when our local "juvenile delinquents" (his words) started throwing fireworks at cars.
P.S. Obviously, I hope your reply is sent to me as an e mail.
ReplyDeleteBeing 12.5% Mexican I am offended by your fireworks purchase
